Ethan Bennett

“The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly;” – The Man in the Arena, Theodore Roosevelt   When I first read this passage, I thought, “that is who I want to be” and I work at it every day despite frequent failure.  I desire to fight for a worthy cause and to be in the dust with my people, whether it be a grieving sister, the homeless, fractured families, or those who live in fear.   I am Ethan Bennett and this is my fight.   Over the course of my internship as a marriage, couple, and family counseling graduate student, I helped over 60 people get closer to their personal goals or to achieve better mental health.  I have counseled 2 children, 11 individuals, 3 couples, 1 family, 4 parenting groups, and 2 adolescents and 6 groups in a school setting.  I am excited to serve the people of western Kentucky as a counselor.   Prior to my counseling studies, I spent my days serving the people of western Kentucky through the Catholic Church as a seminarian (I am no longer studying for priesthood), a speaker, retreat leader, summer staff member, and in various ministerial positions (i.e. lector, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, visiting the homebound and those in nursing homes, etc.).   Follow me on Twitter, connect to me on LinkedIn, or friend me on Facebook to talk counseling, spirituality and religion, social media, or sports (I’m a Kentucky basketball, Cubs baseball, and Alabama football fan.).   If I’m not able to answer your inquiries or requests, then I may know someone who can help you.  Besides, helping is what I do, getting connected is what this is about, and my aim is to help all people wherever they are regardless of need for the common good.   Specialties: Adlerian Psychology, spiritual and religious issues, grief, anxiety, couples, marriage, families, play therapy, parenting, adventure-based counseling, men’s issues, retreats, social media, public speaking
